Seasonal Scholarship Program

This program is offered by FCCD to fund a one-time scholarship payment of $2,000.

Two $1,000 awards for second and third place will also be granted.
Students who have received the district scholarship are eligible to apply, however, scoring rubrics give advantage to first-time applicants.

*Essay Topic Summer 2026

Identify three conservation practices that have an impact on water quality. Essays can have on an agricultural or residential focus.

Apply August 17th - September 17th, 2026.

You must site your sources and extra points awarded for a 3.5 essay.

Applicants must be valid residents of Fayette County, KY, and a high school seniors or 2026 graduate with a sincere interest in conservation or a declared major in the field.

Submit the following materials here, you may submit additional documents to support@kyfccd.com.

  • Complete our application and include a separate page for clubs, jobs, etc.

  • Provide a copy of your most recent transcript stating your school, major (if applicable), and most recent GPA.

  • Attach a 450–500-word essay on the assigned topic. 3.5 essay format is preferred.

  • Attach a copy of your driver's license showing your Fayette County residency. Those without a license are still encouraged to apply - please contact our office about submitting an alternate proof of residency.
